On Thursday, June 21, 2018, the Rio Metro Regional Transit District encouraged people to Dump the Pump and ride public transit. As in incentive to try transit, Rio Metro held a Rail Runner monthly pass giveaway, and, along with other transit agencies from northern and central New Mexico, visited with commuters at the South Capitol Rail Runner Station in Santa Fe.
More than 150 people entered to win one of the four monthly passes for the New Mexico Rail Runner Express as part of the Dump the Pump promotion. Congratulations to the following winners:
Started in June 2006 by the American Public Transit Association (APTA), this national day emphasizes that public transportation is a convenient travel option that also helps people save money.
On Thursday, June 21, 2018, transit agencies from throughout northern and central New Mexico converged at the South Capitol Rail Runner Station to encourage New Mexicans to try transit. Commuters were treated to coffee and donuts, and stopped by transit agency booths for information on the benefits of public transportation.
